Surrey sign two South African’s ahead of the new season. 12th April 2018

Surrey have announced the signing of South African batsman Dean Elgar as the club’s overseas player for the months of April and May.
Elgar, will be available for Surrey’s opening County Championship match against Hampshire at the Kia Oval starting on the 20th April. He will then be available for much of the first two months of the season before leaving to prepare for his country’s tour of Sri Lanka. The South African will be unavailable for the red ball clash against Worcestershire next month due to a pore-arranged commitment. This will be the South African’s second spell with the county, having played for Surrey in 2015.
Meanwhile, Surrey have also announced the signing of former South African fast bowler Morne Morkel on a two- year deal. He has joined Surrey on a Kolpack contract.
