Surrey Scorchers picked up just their second win of the season after beating Glasgow Rocks 93-86 in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Friday evening.
No less than five Scorchers players registered double figures in a fine all-round performance on the night.
Scorchers edged a close opening quarter by 22-17, despite Rock’s player/coach Gareth Murray in top form by nailing a host of three pointers in a score of 14 points at the buzzer.
The home side regained the lead in the second quarter with Keeling three pointers helping Glasgow go into the interval with a slender three-point advantage 47-44.
An outstanding display from Scorchers Emondre Rickman along with more than useful contributions from Tony Hicks and Connor Cashaw edged the Surrey side back in front at the end of the third quarter to lead 74-71.
A strong defensive display from Scorchers extended the lead to double digits as Hicks and Cashaw took control of the contest. With five minutes remaining Surrey held a seven point cushion, which Rocks failed to claw back as the visitors held on for a crucial win.
Captain Tayo Ogedengbe top scored with 20 points, whilst Rickman finished up with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
