Flames opened the scoring on the powerplay at 4:03 when Devils Joey Martin was serving a two-minute minor for hooking, Calle Ackered netted for the hosts, in the only scoring in the opening period.

The table toppers hit back in the second period when Stephen Dixon struck on 23:23. Evan Mosey then made it 2-1 after 31:51 before a Mark Richardson marker at 34:12 gave the Welsh side a two-goal cushion.
